We are proud to serve old fashioned southern style barbeque, cooked at low temperatures for many hours producing the most moist, tender, flavorful barbeque. We use only real wood with no gas or electric burners to alter the flavor of our meat. We hand rub each piece with our own blend of spices for just the right balance of flavor between the smoke, the spice and the meat. It takes a little longer to cook the way we do, but it is a labor of love and we hope you enjoy eating as much as we enjoy cooking. We serve our barbeque with our award winning sauces on the side, but would be glad to glaze meat with your favorite sauce. Just ask. The rest of our menu reflects the best of home style southern cooking with sides made from scratch daily, the freshest seafood, vegetables, and meats we can find.
After a long career which included being a Ford dealer, a Goodyear Tire dealer, a cattle
rancher, a sod farmer, a nutritional supplement company, a marketing
company and a stint in politics, Sam and Jackson Trivett retired, moved to the Keys and started fishing. It didn't take long for them to realize that they missed central Florida and their family so they left the Keys
and came back to Volusia county to be close to children and
grandchildren. They found they were bored with fishing and found a new
hobby in competitive barbeque cooking. After competing successfully in
the Memphis in May, Kansas City and Florida Barbeque Association
competitions, where they never competed without getting a trophy in some
category, they found that competitive cooking only took up a couple of
weekends a month so boredom set in again. Everyone that knows Sam
recognizes that his passion for cooking and entertaining has always been
one of his greatest pleasures and that is where Pitmasters was born.We hope that you will join us to see how this passion for cooking and
love of people has been combined to create a truly unique and memorable
experience. We invite you to come and experience the taste of authentic barbeque.
